I document my little clients in a combination of neutral tones and soft colors so that your baby is the focus of your images. I love to keep things classic and timeless, so I promise not to use any crazy props or hats. I strive to style and create set-ups that won't look outdated in just a few months so that you can look back at your images years from now and love them as much as you did the day you first saw them.
My custom newborn photography sessions take place in my studio located in Howell, NJ where you will have access to my complete set of newborn blankets and accessories. I also offer a studio + home combo that combines a posed studio session and a lifestyle home session.
Sessions takes place within the first 14 days of birth, so it is important to book your session as soon as possible. It's never too early to book in order to ensure a spot during the recommended time frame. I usually book 2-3 months in advance.
My custom newborn photography session is all about the experience and choices that I give my clients. Throughout my years as a newborn photographer, I have come to realize that I love to offer a highly personalized experience for our clients. I love to get to know you, talk to you about your vision for your session, and work with you to achieve the images you imagine for your newborn baby. By offering custom newborn photography, I commit to offering an experience where you’ll play an active role in the planning of your session while allowing me to create a beautiful set of images that is representative of my style of newborn photography.
I offer a complimentary discovery call before booking to ensure I'm a good fit for your photography needs. The best time to schedule a discovery call 2-3 months before your due date. During our call, we'll discuss the types of images you're looking to achieve, the styling of your session, and the process for booking.
As soon as you book your newborn session, I'll send you an online questionnaire so that I can begin to plan. If you've booked a maternity session, we’ll set up a time for your pre-session
consultation to go over session
details and plan the styling of your session. Next, if you know your baby's gender, we'll plan the newborn session. If you don't know the gender of your baby yet and plan to be surprised, then we'll chat about that once the baby is here.
The questionnaire and our pre-session consultation will help me envision the images you are looking to achieve in terms of who will be in the photos (mom, dad, and/or siblings), the color palette you’d like me to use, the types of set-ups and poses you prefer, and any wall art collections I should have in mind during the session.
This approach will allow me to customize your blankets and accessories to ensure a session that is tailored to you as well as the goals of the session. I truly believe that session planning is a collaborative process and my goal is to create an experience where you’ll be a part of the styling of your session so that your images are cohesive and fit well with the colors in your home.
Once your baby is born, I ask that you call or text me within 2-3 days so that we can set a date for the session within a few days of the baby coming home. This way I can ensure I’m able capture their sleepy and curly stage during the recommended timeframe.
Newborn sessions take place in our in-home studio in Howell, NJ, where you will have access to my complete set of newborn props and accessories. The session takes place within the first 14 days of birth. Most sessions take place Tuesdays through Thursdays, though some weekends may be available during the winter months when I'm not shooting weddings. Sessions always start at 10am because babies tend to be more settled in the morning.
Please let me know if you plan to have your baby boy circumcised so that we can plan accordingly.
The newborn studio is kept at 80 degrees so you may want to wear a sleeveless or short-sleeved shirt if you plan to watch me work.
Once you arrive, I start my sessions by evaluating how sleepy your baby is. If your baby is very sleepy, I will begin with the individual portraits. Otherwise, we will either feed and soothe the baby, or if you have chosen to be included in the photos, we will start the family portraits.
After your session, I will go through the images from your session and select the best. If your session yields more images than the number in your collection, you will receive a link to soft proof your gallery and choose the images you’d like me to edit. Once the final images are selected, I will edit those, getting rid of skin issues such as redness, blemishes, and flaky skin that might be distracting. Your images will be ready for delivery within 1-3 weeks. At that point, we'll work together to design any albums or wall art collections you may have ordered.
Once I have answered any questions you may have and you have decided that The Newborn Experience is exactly what you’re looking for, the next step is a signed agreement and retainer. I will create an online contract for you to review, and when you’re ready you can book your session by signing your agreement and paying your $200 retainer online. The balance will be due on the day of the session.

Newborn sessions take place within the first 14 days of birth while your baby is still in the adorable sleepy and curly stage that you see in my newborn images. For this reason, it's important to book your session 2-3 months before your due date in order to reserve a spot during the recommended timeframe. I occasionally have last-minute openings so if your baby is already here, don't be afraid to reach out to see if I can still accommodate you.
