When Melissa reached out to let me know that she and Derek were expecting their second child, I was thrilled! I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement and wedding back in 2013, their first-born son’s newborn session 2.5 years ago, and now I had the opportunity to meet the newest addition to their family! But when I quickly realized that I’d be VERY pregnant right around Melissa’s due date, I knew I’d need a backup plan just in case our own baby came early. Luckily, it all worked out and I was able to work with this beautiful family of four at 38 weeks pregnant! I’m so thankful I had my assistant, Susan, help me so that I could enjoy the session even when my belly was getting in the way, ha!
For Alexander’s session we incorporated hues of blues paired with grays and creams. I love the softness of this color palette! I’m also so glad we were able to get some must-have family and siblings only shots, too. Big brother Jason made us work for them but it was so worth it!! And worth the quick run to Wawa for some M&M’s when the going got tough, ha!
Melissa and Derek, thank you for allowing me to capture your family once again. It has been such a pleasure seeing your family grow. Jay and I are so happy for you and wish you so many new adventures with your two little guys! xoxo
